Nuclear energy is a necessary resource for meeting climate, energy transition and energy security needs, the leaders of India and the USA said. They also noted "ongoing negotiations" for the construction of six AP1000 reactors in India, as well as discussions on small modular reactor development.

International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi has said he hopes to "reinforce" the agency's team of experts at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to reflect its expanded role, which includes monitoring compliance with the five safety and security principles outlined at the United Nations last week.

The IVG.1M research reactor in Kurchatov, Kazakhstan, is ready to resume experiments following the completion of a project to convert it from using highly-enriched uranium fuel to low-enriched uranium fuel, the country's National Nuclear Centre announced.
