2012 start planned for Pinenut mine

US uranium miner Denison is working towards starting production from the Pinenut uranium mine in Arizona early in 2012, the company has revealed in its 2010 results. Development work on the mine, which was shut down in the 1980s, began in the fourth quarter of 2010. The company is already operating the nearby Arizona 1 mine, trucking ore 325 miles to the White Mesa mill for processing.
