AEHI signs intent to build new US reactor

[AEHI, 5 December] Alternate Energy Holdings Inc (AEHI) of the USA signed a letter of intent on 1 December to construct, own and operate a nuclear power plant near Bruneau, Idaho. The proposed modular 1500 MWe light water reactor will provide electricity for local farm co-op irrigation, but the majority of output will be sold in the national energy market. The company expects to sign a binding agreement in early 2007, with plant construction expected to start in early 2008. The company says the plant could be built in some 36 months.
