Polish utility Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) has shortlisted three potential sites for the construction of the country's first nuclear power plant. Citing PGE CEO Tomasz Zadroga, state news agency PAP reported that the list includes sites at Zarnowiec and Gaski in north-west Poland and Choczewo in the north of the country. All three are on the Baltic coast. Jadrowa reiterated that a final decision on the location would be made in 2013. Zarnowiec, which was earmarked for the construction of a nuclear power plant in the 1980s, ranked at the top of a governmental site-selection survey in 2010, but final site selection rests with PGE.
