The Russian company, part of Rosatom, will supply 40 Ge-68/Ga-68 generators to India this year. They are being produced by Cyclotron (Obninsk).

Isotope JSC's Director General Anton Shargin said: "The supply of germanium-68/gallium-68 generators under a contract with the distributor Esente Healthcare opens up new opportunities for expanding the presence of Rosatom State Corporation in the Indian nuclear medicine market, and will also ensure the growth of trade in isotope products between our countries."

The Ga-68 isotope is used in PET scanners to diagnose conditions, including a wide range of cancers, with 100,000 diagnostic procedures taking place each year globally. The Russian company says it has 170 foreign companies as partners in 50 countries.
