Russian parliament moves to consolidate nuclear industry

[RIANovosti, 6 December] The Russian State Duma, the lower house ofparliament, voted 368-51 in favour of a presidential bill that would create astate-owned holding company for all enterprises involved in the civiliannuclear sector, to be known as Atomprom. The legislation will undergo two morereadings, then must be approved by the upper house and signed by PresidentPutin.
