More contracts awarded for Hinkley Point C
EDF Energy has today announced further preferred bidders for the project to construct the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant in the UK. The combined value of the contracts is some £1.3 billion ($2.0 billion).

Italy's Enel plans two-step sale of Slovenske Elektrarne stake
Enel plans to sell its 66% stake in Slovenské Elektrárne in two stages – through the sale of a minority stake by the end of this year and the remainder once construction of two nuclear power units at Mochovce nuclear power plant in Slovakia has been completed. The Slovak government owns the remaining 34% in the country's biggest power producer.

Russia puts back power supply dates for new reactors
Russia's Market Council has approved the postponement of power supply agreements for new nuclear reactors in line with changes to their commissioning dates. During a visit to the construction site of Leningrad II, Rosatom head Sergey Kirienko said this meant the contract for the first unit of that plant would thus take effect on 1 January 2018.

PGE EJ1 rejects suggestion of further delay to plant project
PGE EJ1 - the subsidiary of Polish state-owned energy group Polska Grupa Energetyczna set up to build and run Poland's first nuclear power plant - has rejected a report by Greenpeace that there is a seven-year delay to the project.

Ownership of Croatia's Migrit Energija remains unclear
Finland's Ministry of Employment and the Economy announced today that it has been unable to confirm whether Migrit Energija, the Croatian company intending to take a stake in the Hanhikivi nuclear power plant project, is in fact European-controlled.
