The International Atomic Energy Agency last month completed a peer review of selected parts of the design safety documentation for the Rooppur nuclear power plant under construction in Bangladesh.

A Bangladesh-Indian joint venture is to build a new 26.5 kilometre railway link from the Rooppur nuclear power plant to Ishwardi under a contract signed in Dhaka on 10 July. The contract is to be completed within 18 months.

Hossain headed a delegation on a technical tour of Russia's Novovoronezh nuclear power plant on 1-3 December.
