Polar crane installed at Haiyang

First fuel produced for Chinese EPR
The first fuel assemblies for unit 1 of China's Taishan plant have been produced by Areva. The EPR unit - the first of two currently under construction at the site - is expected to begin operating next year.

China builds uranium enrichment centrifuge
The first domestically-produced centrifuge has been successfully installed at a uranium enrichment plant at the Lanzhou Nuclear Fuel Complex, China National Nuclear Corporation announced. China has previously relied on Russian enrichment technology.

Reactor vessel installed at Yangjiang 2
The reactor pressure vessel has been lowered into place at unit 2 of the Yangjiang nuclear power plant, under construction in China's Guangdong province. The reactor is set to start operating next year.

First Hongyanhe unit connected to the grid
