Final solution for historic used fuel

Harwell test facility prepares for decommissioning

Ignalina 2 decommissioning work starts
Work has started at the second unit of the Ignalina nuclear power plant in Lithuania to dismantle its emergency core cooling system and to remove contaminated components from its turbine hall. The two projects are to be completed in June 2015 and by 2029, respectively.

Nuclenor fined for early Garoña closure
The operator of Spain's Garoña nuclear power plant, Nuclenor, has been fined €18.4 million ($24.9 million) by the country's financial regulator for shutting down the plant six months earlier than originally authorized.

Winfrith opens reactor containment for first time
