Angra 1 simulator inaugurated

Eletronuclear drawn into Brazil corruption probe
The president and CEO of Eletronuclear, Othon Luiz Pinheiro da Silva, has been arrested in connection with construction contracts for Angra 3. It comes as the 16th wave of police action in a wide-ranging investigation of corruption in Brazil.

Simulator 'ready for training' at Angra 1
A new full-scope simulator at unit 1 of Brazil's Angra nuclear power plant has passed final acceptance tests and declared "ready for training." It is expected to be commissioned in June 2015.

Brazil's Angra plant to get domestic fuel
Industrias Nucleares do Brasil will provide enriched uranium for the first time for unit 1 of the country's sole nuclear power plant. Previously, the Resende plant was entirely engaged with foreign companies.

Licence application for Brazilian mine
Mining is expected to begin at Brazil's Engenho uranium deposit next year, according to front-end fuel cycle company Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil. A licence application for the mine is currently before the national regulator.
