Russia makes progress with radwaste data management
Russia has introduced an automated system for the accounting and control of its radioactive substances and waste that encompasses more than 2000 organizations. The system follows an order by state nuclear corporation Rosatom, 113 subsidiaries of which account for 96% of the country's radioactive substances and waste.

International assistance for Vietnamese regulator
The UK has agreed to extend the secondment of a senior nuclear inspector to Vietnam's Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety as part of their continued cooperation. Meanwhile, US-based GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy has agreed to cooperate in training for nuclear safety analysis while Russia will help promote nuclear energy in the country.

Khiagdinskoye uranium output from end-2016
JSC Khiagda has confirmed that it expects to start commercial production of uranium from its Khiagdinskoye deposit from the end of 2016. JSC Khiagda is part of Atomredmetzoloto, the uranium mining subsidiary of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom.
