Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ) Uranium Holding Co and Rosatom Mining Division specialised company Rusburmash JSC are carrying out work to equip the pilot production site for the in-situ leach operation. Production will be the responsibility of ARMZ company Dalur JSC.

Sorption columns and other tank facilities are currently being installed in the production building, with commissioning and start-up scheduled for December, ARMZ said.

Kamol Kadyrov, Dalur's first deputy director general and production director, said work is progressing on schedule. "To date, an administrative building, a compressor facility, a sodium nitrite warehouse, and an operator station have been built at the construction site," he said. "Concrete work has been completed on the product solution settler and the sulfuric acid warehouse. The frame of the future building of the local sorption unit has been erected."

The production site will create 300 new jobs and is expected to produce uranium for "several decades", ARMZ said.
