Initial supply contract for Energy Metals
[Energy Metals, 1 May]Energy Metals has entered into a definitive agreement with anundisclosed US utility for the supply of 635 t U3O8 for deliverybetween 2010 and 2016.The material will be sourced the LaPalangana uranium deposit it is developing. Energy Metals is currentlydeveloping the south Texas deposit, where it plans to use in-situ leach(ISL) mining technology, and is also upgrading the nearby Hobsonuranium processing facility for an anticipated 2008 production date.The Hobson mill was originally constructed by Everest Exploration in1979 with a rated capacity of 225 t U3O8 per year. It has beenshut since 1991. Energy Metals' refurbishment of the plant includes anupgrade to 450 t U3O8 per year.
