New head of Foratom
Jean-Pol Poncelet has been officially announced as the new director general of Foratom, the European nuclear trade body. Poncelet served in high public office in Belgium as defence minister, energy minister and deputy prime minister between 1985 and 1999. In industry he held senior roles at the European Space Agency and Areva, as well as the Belgian national radioactive waste management agency (Ondraf). He succeeds Santiago San Antonio who stepped down after five years.
