Record output and sales for Uranium One

Uranium One reported record uranium production and sales for 2010. The Canada-based company said that attributable production for 2010 from its mines in Kazakhstan increased by 106% to 7.4 million pounds of U₃O₈ (2846 tU), compared with 3.6 million pounds U₃O₈ (1385 tU) produced in 2009. Its share of production in 2010 from the Akdala and South Inkai mines, in which Uranium One holds a 70% stake in each, totalled 1.9 million pounds of U₃O₈ (731 tU) and 3.1 million pounds of U₃O₈ (1192 tU), respectively. Meanwhile, attributable output from the Karatau mine, in which the company has a 50% stake, was 2.2 million pounds of U₃O₈ (846 tU), while that from Uranium One's 30% stake in the Kharasan mine was 200,000 million pounds of U₃O₈ (77 tU). Also, attributable production from the newly-acquired Akbastau and Zarechnoye mines from 27 December 2010 to the end of the year was some 34,000 million pounds of U₃O₈ (13 tU). Attributable sales for 2010 were 6.9 million pounds of U₃O₈ (2654 tU), a 116% increase compared to 2009 attributable sales of 3.2 million pounds of U₃O₈ (1230 tU).
