Guterres calls for end to 'war against nature' as latest climate talks begin
UN Secretary-General António Guterres yesterday described current human behaviour as a "war against nature" and warned that, up to now, the efforts of the international community to reach targets outlined by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have been "utterly inadequate". Guterres was speaking to reporters on the eve of the twenty-fifth session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Climate Change, or COP25, taking place in Madrid for the next two weeks.
