Westinghouse and First Energy sign agreement

The two companies have signed a comprehensive, 10-year agreement through which Westinghouse will provide services and support to Fenoc's Beaver Valley plant in Pennsylvania and its Davis-Besse and Perry plants in Ohio.
 

Under the terms of the agreement, Westinghouse's services will range from large component replacement and engineering services to outage support and spare parts supply. The large components that would be replaced under the agreement were not specified and the value of the contract was not disclosed.
 

Westinghouse said that the agreement will enable to two companies "to work together to improve in key focus areas associated with safety, plant reliability and efficiency."
 
Fenoc's Beaver Valley plant consists of two 911 MWe pressurized water reactors (PWRs), while its Davis-Besse plant comprises a single 905 MWe PWR. The Perry plant, meanwhile, has a single 1235 MWe boiling water reactor (BWR).
