Holtec International has completed the fabrication and delivery of the Centre Stack Casing for the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory's National Spherical Torus Experiment-Upgrade, a precursor to commercial nuclear power based on nuclear fusion.

It said the new high-confinement and self-organising Super I-mode "represents the reliability and advancement of the machine itself but also offers insights into how to better maintain the plasma operating stably and for long duration".
