France to study reactor construction in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia and France signed three nuclear-related cooperation agreements in Paris on 24 June. One is to carry out a feasibility study for the construction of two power reactors in the Middle Eastern country.

Turkish regulator issues preliminary licence for Akkuyu project
JSC Akkuyu NPP, the Russian-owned company responsible for Turkey's first nuclear power plant, has been awarded a preliminary licence, enabling the company to start investment and permitting procedures for the project.

Vogtle receives final loan guarantees
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has issued the last of three conditional loan guarantees for Vogtle units 3 and 4, meaning that the construction of the first AP1000 nuclear power plant in the USA is now fully financed.

Reactor vessel cavity installed at Vogtle 4

Haiyang 1 control room declared operational
The main control room of the first Westinghouse AP1000 unit at Haiyang in China's Shandong province has been declared operational. The unit is expected to begin operating by the end of this year.
